„The advice that i will give myself is only one, when you are going to school you have to try your best. It’s really important because it’s always easy to give up.“ Jeroen Carlier is working as a Technical Advisor for EVVA Belgium. „The coolest part of my job is, that i have a lot of contact with different people and different countries. So i am able to travel to Austria and France. That is one of the coolest thing of my job. Many people in this area have a technical background, i don’t have it. But because of my mechanical background, i grew in to the technical parts.“

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist, das Gefühl, wenn ich einem Menschen helfen konnte, wenn ich den Patienten den Schmerz nehmen konnte nach einer Gipsanlage oder die Angst nehmen kann, vor einer Operation, erzählt Danny Klawatsch, Dipl. Med. Fachassistenz bei Wiener Gesundheitsverbund. „Eine Herausforderung in meinem Job ist die Arbeit mit den Menschen, den Menschen die Angst zu nehmen und ihnen bei zu stehen in schweren Zeiten – ist glaub ich die größte Herausforderung.“

Alexander Hochman

Die Coca-Cola Hellenic Botteling Company Austria ist ein Abfüllunternehmen, wir füllen also Coca-Cola ab, produzieren Flaschen und vertreiben diese Produkte im österreichischen Markt und im Ausland, so Alexander Hochman. „In meinem Verkaufsgebiet im ersten Wiener Bezirk bin ich von der Fast Food Gastronomie bis hin zu Luxushotels dafür verantwortlich, dass meine Kunden ihre Gäste mit unseren Getränken versorgen können und mit uns zufrieden sind.“

Claus Sipöcz

Wir sind der einzige Standort der Coca-Cola Company in Österreich und meine Hauptaufgabe ist es, die Abfüllung kosteneffizient und unter idealer Nutzung der Ressourcen zu gestalten, so Claus Sipoecz von der Coca-Cola HBC Österreich, wo er als Produktionsleiter arbeitet. „Die Personalführung meiner 70 Mitarbeiter bereitet mir besonders viel Freude“.

Arianne Maranan

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist, auch wenn man immer die selben Tätigkeiten macht, dass man immer etwas Neues zu sehen bekommt und immer etwas Neues lernt, so Arianne Maranan, Pflegefachkraft beim Wiener Gesundheitsverbund. „Herausfordernd ist, dass man einen unregelmäßigen Tag und Nacht Rhythmus hat, durch die Schichtdienste und das man flexibel und belastbar sein sollte.“

Mohammed Ashmawy

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist die Arbeit in der Notfallmedizin. Ich finde es sehr schön Menschen in Not zu helfen oder helfen zu können, erzählt Mohammed Ashmawy, Oberarzt in der Allgemein- und Notmedizin bei Wiener Gesundheitsverbund. „Um meinem Job machen zu können, ist Voraussetzung ein Medizin-Studium abzuschließen. Man sollte gerne mit Menschen arbeiten, Stressresistenz sein und Spaß an einer abwechslungsreichen Arbeit haben.“

Peter Dovjak

„Meine Aufgabe ist es, ältere Patienten*innen, die geriatrisch krank sind, stationär und teilweise ambulant zu versorgen“, erzählt Peter Dovjak, Primar der Akutgeriatrie und stellvertretender Ärztlicher Direktor im Salzkammergut Klinikum der OÖG, der größten Krankenhausträgerin Oberösterreichs. „Als Internist mache ich Herz-Kreislauf-Untersuchungen, Endoskopie und Ultraschalluntersuchungen. Wir kümmern und hier aber zusätzlich auch um die Funktionalität.“

Sven Mischinger-Palme

„Mir gefällt im Prinzip alles am LKW fahren und der Branche. Es macht mir sehr viel Spaß“, erzählt Sven Mischinger-Palme, ausgebildeter Berufskraftfahrer bei EDEKA. „EDEKA sind die Einzelhandelsmärkte und wir verteilen die Ware aus den großen Lagern zu den Einzelhändler:innen. Wir haben sowohl lange als auch kurze Strecken“.

Gayle Sonoda

„Keep eating well, stay healthy, keep working out and the basic, learn to be nice to people. In that sense, when you are good to yourself, you are good to others and you build that strong network troughout your entire life.“ These are the advices Gayle Sonoda, Inspector in the Los Angeles Fire Department would give her 14-year-old self. „The coolest thing would be, the people that I work with and to be able to be part of that big team. In addition to that we get to serve the public and make a difference and empower them. That’s exciting to me.“

Cody Weireter

„You are the last line of defense, the next one is the Army. People call you, because they are having the worst day of their life and we show up to mitigate their problem. We are here to solve that issue, whether it might be minimum or the biggest thing that happened in their lives. They call the Fire Department and for that level of trust to be able to come and solve that issue and hopefully put their lives back on track.“ This is the coolest thing on his job, so Cody Weireter, Captain in the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Miriam Calvo-Gil

“Travel the world and learn as many languages as possible, it helps you to find different perspectives and meet people from different backgrounds. It opens doors”, says Miriam Calvo-Gil, Learning & Development Design and Technical Manager at Proponent. “The coolest thing about my job is to see how people grow and how their self-reliance also grows with them. You see them realizing their potential.”

Orin Saunders

„Definitely follow your passion, you definitely want a job, that you gonna enjoy doing it, where you love coming to work. That’s what i found myself with the Fire Department. Orin Saunders ist Assistant Chief in the Los Angeles Fire Departement. „My job as Assistant Chief is a amazing job. Is a large footprint, to be really able to dictate the day to day operations. To have that spirit influence, great policy and i see that remarkable change in order to be able to serve. To support the men and women in Los Angeles Fire Department.“

Kristina Kepner

„Be self confident in your decisions and never let anybody tell you, you can’t do something. If you have a goal in life, you can do it. It’s just about working hard and have a positive attitude.“ Kristina Kepner is Assistant Chief in the Los Angeles Fire Department. „I am a paramedic, so obviously having the opportunity to truly save peoples lives to paramedicine, has been extremely rewarding. But for me is the giving back to the youth program. Because i came up in the youth program and it really changed my life.“

Branden Silverman

„In my current position the most rewarding thing, is when we give a class a presentation to the public and they truly sincerely thank us for the education we were able to give them.“ This is one the coolest thing for Branden Silverman, Captain in the Los Angeles Fire Department. „I would tell my 14-year-old self to learn other languages while you are young, because I definitely try to expand my knowledge know and it is a lot tougher as you get older, as we all know.“

Andrew Todhunter

“I would encourage myself to be a little bolder in forming and maintaining relationships with people. At fourteen I certainly didn't have the same confidence. I never really had a plan for where I was going, I tried to find things that interested me at the time.” Today, Andrew Todhunter is the CEO and President of Proponent. For him, the best moments are “when we come up with some sort of innovative, sophisticated customer or supplier solution and create a new business arrangement.”

Daniel Valdez

“Focus and listen to the instructors, they're not there to be your enemies. They're there to guide you”, says Daniel Valdez, Senior Systems Administrator at Proponent. “Overall, I just love IT. I have a passion for it, I've had a passion for it for the past twenty years. What I love most about it here are the people, they are what makes my job worthwhile.”

William Oglesby

“Trust your instincts, 99% of the time they are going to be right. Learn a foreign language early and commit yourself to that. You'll be surprised how far it will take you in life.” These are some pieces of advice William Oglesby, Customer Solutions Support Manager at Proponent, would give to his younger self. “There's always a new challenge, there's always a new issue, something that forces you out of your comfort zone. I do enjoy the interfacing with the customers, that includes to travel.”

Tim Gill

“You have to have a lot of humor to get though life, because life gets pretty challenging. You can't be afraid of work, you have to want to get up in the morning and go make a difference to society”, says Tim Gill, Vice President of Manufacturing at Proponent in California. “Each day I might see a new product that I've never seen before and we have to figure out how to solve the customer's problems. If I can't solve it, I can probably lead them in the right direction. It's a variety. I get to see something different almost every day and it's almost always a challenge.”

Kristin Crowley

"You put the community's needs ahead of your own and it's an incredible feeling to come to work each and every day and to impact somebody's life." Kristin Crowley is the highest ranking female in the Los Angeles Fire Department and found her purpose in what she is doing every day. Even though it looked like her initial feeling would take her down a different career path, eventually she decided to join the Fire Department. "My first step in the fire station - I knew that's what I was supposed to be doing."

Jacob Raabe

„My father was also a firefighter, my brother was a firefighter so I kind of knew it in my head that this is a career path, that I wanted to take. Jacob Raabe is Inspector & Paramedic in the Los Angeles Fire Department and the coolest thing in his job is being able to do public education. „One of the great aspects working for the Los Angeles Fire Department is gonna work togehther as a team. Having that unique backround and viewpoint makes a huge difference in accomplishing a common goal.“

Melissa Wong

“The first thing is to get your personal finances under control, because there's a lot of decisions that you can make if your personal financial health is already taken care of”, says Melissa Wong, Regional Manager Customer Relationship and Global Customer Quality as well as a Learning and Development Specialist at Proponent. “The coolest thing is that our parts help people get home to their loved ones safely on the airplanes and that really brings me a lot of joy.”

David Cresine

“Be more focused, have some structure. You've got different things going on all the time”, is one piece of advice David Cresine, Purchasing Agent at Proponent, would give to his 14-year-old self. “The best thing is when you have an issue where it's been going back and forth for sometimes months and then the customer is finally happy, we're selling the product. That's rewarding!”

Desiree Garcia

“Embrace your struggles and the things that are difficult, they will help you in the future. Have more fun and don't be afraid to fail!” These are pieces of advice that Desiree Garcia, Director Marketing and Communications at Proponent, would give to her younger self and others. “Recently the most rewarding moment was when showed the new brand to our employees and after two years of work and establishing what the name of the company should be and what the aesthetic should look like, and seeing people say that we got it right. That is who we are, that is who we aspire to be.”

Melissa Bunzel

Als Zugbegleiterin finde ich es wunderschön, wenn sich Leute nach Ewigkeiten wiedersehen und sich auf dem Bahnsteig in die Arme fallen, so Melissa Bunzel, Zugbegleiterin bei den ÖBB. „Ich trage viel Verantwortung für die Sicherheit meiner Fahrgäste und mir ist es sehr wichtig, dass sich unsere Kunden*innen bei uns wohlfühlen!“

Erwin Graber

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist, dass wir ein junges Team sind, das zusammenhält. Außerdem ist die Arbeit als Disponent für die Aufrechterhaltung der Warenversorgung für die Gesellschaft sehr wichtig, so Erwin Graber, Disponent Trockensortiment bei der REWE Group Österreich.

Aleksandar Mladenovic

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist, dass ich dafür zuständig bin Kundinnen und Kunden mit Lebensmittel und anderen Waren zu versorgen. Ich bin nich nur im LKW und fahre die ganze Zeit auf der Straße, sondern ich be- und entlade auch und habe somit viel Abwechslung in meinem Job, erzählt Aleksandar Mladenovic, LKW-Fahrer bei der REWE Group Österreich.

Michael Bichler

Das Coolste und Spannendste an meinem Job ist, dass ich verschiedene Unternehmen und Branchen kennenlerne, ich bekomme tiefe Einblicke in Unternehmen, erzählt Michael Bichler, Associate / Berufsanwärter Tax bei Mazars Austria. „Softskills wie Zahlenaffinität und die Freude an Klienten-Kontakt sollte man mitbringen.“

Godwin Feliciano

Das Coolste an meinem Job sind meine Kolleg*innen, die teilweise auch Teil meines Freundeskreises geworden sind und durch die lockere und kollegiale Atmosphäre in der Arbeit, freut es mich immer wieder hier her zu kommen, so Godwin Feliciano, Associate / Berufsanwärter Förderprüfung bei Mazars Austria.

Kerstin Windisch

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist, dass ich selbstständig arbeiten darf, Verantwortung habe und der tägliche Kundenkontakt, so Kerstin Windisch, technische Verkaufsberaterin bei REXEL. „Für mich persönlich gibt es keine Einschränkungen. Es könnte sein, dass manche eventuell die fixen Arbeitszeiten oder das Stehen beziehungsweise Sitzen während der Arbeitszeit oder auch die Bildschirmarbeit als Einschränkung sehen.“

Manuel Battisti

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist die Vielfältigkeit und dass man mit jeder Abteilung zu tun hat. Es ist wirklich alles auf Augenhöhe und es herrscht eine super Zusammenarbeit, so Manuel Battisti, Qualitätsmanager bei Hydro Extrusion Nenzing. „Einschränkungen im Bereich Sachbearbeitung und Reklamation ist sicherlich, dass man vom Kunden sehr sehr viel Negatives mitbekommt. Man sollte das Bestmögliche in der Reklamation umsetzen, damit der Kunde gut beliefert wird.“

Eleni Lychna

Das Coolste an meinem Traineeprogramm ist, dass der Job genau meinen Wünschen entspricht. Für mich ist sehr schön, dass ich nicht nur im Büro sitze vorm Computer sondern auch durch das Werk laufe und bei den Anlagen sein darf, erzählt Eleni Lychna, Trainee in der Prozesstechnik bei Hydro Extrusion Nenzing. „Aufgrund der Vielfältigkeit und der Komplexität von Themen, mit denen ich mich beschäftige, entsteht die Einschränkung, dass man nicht alles bis zum Ende des Tages schaffen kann. Man lernt, damit umzugehen.“

Rika Martin

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist die Art und Weise, allein aber auch im Team, wie man den Kunden helfen kann, sagt Rika Martin, Junior Verkäuferin im Innendienst bei Hydro Extrusion Nenzing. „Die Voraussetzungen für diesen Job sind ganz klar, dass man stressresistent ist, man gerne Kundenkontakt hat und flexibel ist.“

Maximilian Schamoti

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist das Bindeglied zwischen Führungsebene und Produktionsebene zu sein, so Maximilian Schamoti, Schichtleiter in der Fabrication bei Hydro Extrusion Nenzing. „Die größte Herausforderung bzw. Einschränkung ist natürlich der Schichtbetrieb, es sind Früh-, Spät- und Nachtschichten. Dementsprechend kommt man früh, spät oder in den ersten Morgenstunden Nachhause. In meinem Fall, als Schichtleiter, ist auch das Telefon eine Einschränkung, man muss immer erreichbar sein.“

Efe Altuntas

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist die Mitarbeiterführung, die Verantwortung und das super Arbeitsklima, so Efe Altuntas, Schichtleiter in der Verpackung bei Hydro Extrusion Nenzing. „Einschränkungen sind im Sommer der Helm und für die Verpackungsmitarbeiter das lange Stehen am Arbeitsplatz. Wir versuchen es für die Mitarbeiter so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten, mit ergonomischen Matten, genau bei dem Punkt, wo sie immer stehen und die meiste Zeit verbringen und wir bieten auch intern Massagetermine an.“

Rene Dirnberger

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist die große Themenvielfalt, dass kein Tag wie der andere ist, der Umgang mit meinem Team und den Kolleg*innen im Betrieb, so Rene Dirnberger, Instandhaltungsleiter Rigips bei Saint-Gobain Austria. „Die Einschränkungen in meinem Job sind, sollte es zu einem Gebrechen kommen, muss sofort reagiert werden.“
