BAWAG Group is the publicly listed holding company of BAWAG, which, with more than 4 million customers, is one of the largest banks in Austria. As a dynamic employer, we promote talent and drive technological innovation forward at a rapid pace. Flat hierarchies, a flexible working environment, and equal opportunities for our employees are particularly important to us.

We’re looking for a Product Owner / Feature Lead to drive delivery for multiple features in parallel within our Digital Banking apps or web portals. Reporting into either the App Lead or Web Lead, you’ll own a handful of assigned feature domains with a dedicated Scrum team, balancing new delivery with the ongoing run and reporting of features already live. You’ll work closely with developers to ship high‑quality software at pace, make pragmatic UX decisions within your feature scope, and continuously analyse and shape new incoming ideas into clear, developer‑ready work. This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused role with real ownership from idea through production and learnings after launch.

Profil

  • 3+ years in product ownership or system/business analysis, ideally in fast-paced or start-up environments
  • Ability to interpret system behaviour by navigating code with AI assistance
  • Strong experience writing high‑quality user stories and Gherkin acceptance criteria
  • Comfortable using tools like VS Code, Postman, and/or API explorers
  • Excellent analytical skills and structured problem‑solving
  • Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management
  • Experience in digital banking, apps, web portals, or microservices (nice to have)
  • Fluent in English mandatory, German language skills optional
  • Curious, fast learner, and eager to leverage AI to amplify impact
  • Structured, concise, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Pragmatic, able to balance speed and quality
  • Thinks in full flows (happy path + edge cases) and cares about user outcomes
  • Enjoys understanding systems without needing to code
  • Works well with engineers, UX, QA, and leadership
  • Able to move quickly from idea → structure → clarity
  • Excited to shape not just features, but a new way of working!

Aufgaben

  • Own a defined product sub-domain end-to-end, including roadmap, priorities, and delivery outcomes
  • Drive a small team and work closely with the overall App or Web Product Owner
  • Turn product ideas into structured, high-quality inputs that agentic workflows can use
  • Provide clear problem statements, competitor insights, constraints, and value propositions
  • Break initiatives into scoped user stories with precise acceptance criteria
  • Use agentic tools (WorkIQ, MCP, VS Code integrations) to create stories, pull behaviour from code, validate assumptions, and deliver requirements in Markdown
  • Refine AI-generated outputs into final, developer-ready requirements
  • Use AI agents to interpret backend, mobile, and portal code to understand system behaviour
  • Analyse data models, logs, and APIs (with AI assistance) to uncover rules and dependencies
  • Ensure planned changes align with system architecture and constraints
  • Write high-quality, constraint-aware stories in Gherkin (Given/When/Then) format
  • Ensure stories meet Definition of Ready and include AI-ready acceptance criteria
  • Keep stories small, unambiguous, and aligned across front-end, backend, and APIs
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, UX, and QA to remove ambiguity and align expectations
  • Analyse competitor apps & portals and bring structured insights into roadmap decisions
  • Support data-driven prioritisation using SQL/PowerBI where needed
  • Track delivery outcomes, remove blockers, and drive features from idea to production
  • Provide clear post-launch reporting with data and visualisations
  • Own feature and audit topic closure without reminders
  • Make informed decisions on feature scope and UX in alignment with area leads
  • Join our team in defining a new post-SCRUM way of work in the agentic era - where developers are closer to product, and product is closer to code.
  • Enhance agentic development workflows as new patterns emerge
  • Ensure clarity, structure, and pragmatic decision-making across your domain
