Join Fiber Elements and help scale industrial innovation

Fiber Elements is an ambitious deep-tech start-up based in Leoben, Austria, founded in 2023 at the start-up center of Montanuniversität Leoben. We develop and produce advanced non-metallic reinforcement systems for the construction industry, with a strong focus on basalt-based materials and automated production technologies. Our mission is to bring smarter, more scalable and more sustainable manufacturing solutions into the future of construction. We are growing fast and are looking for a Robotics & Automation Engineer who wants to do more than maintain systems — we are looking for someone who wants to build, improve and scale them. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and optimizing our robotic production processes and automation landscape. You will work directly on the backbone of our manufacturing setup and help turn innovative materials technology into industrial reality.

Your impact

As Robotics & Automation Engineer, you will help shape how our production systems evolve from advanced start-up operations into scalable industrial deployment. Your work will have a direct and visible impact on efficiency, process reliability, product quality and future growth.

Profil

  • Solid know-how in PLC programming and industrial automation
  • Experience with robotic simulation tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and process documentation
  • Strong analytical thinking and a practical problem-solving mindset
  • A degree in Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Robotics or a related technical field
  • Fluent English; B1-level German is a plus

Aufgaben

  • Design, program and optimize automated production processes with a focus on industrial robotics
  • Develop and improve robotic applications, including systems such as KUKA
  • Support the control and integration of PLC-based automation systems
  • Analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, stability and cycle times
  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance concepts for robotic production systems
  • Conduct testing, benchmarking and validation to continuously improve performance
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and solve automation-related process challenges
  • Train and support production teams in the operation and maintenance of robotic systems and control protocols
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to help build the next generation of our automated production environment

Unser Angebot

  • You will take on a high-impact role in a fast-growing technology start-up
  • You will have the opportunity to shape automation systems from an early stage, not just operate them
  • You will work on cutting-edge production technologies with real industrial relevance
  • You will be part of a collaborative, hands-on and innovation-driven team
  • You will contribute to building smarter and more sustainable solutions for the construction industry
  • You will grow with the company and gain exposure to both technical depth and strategic development
  • You will work in Leoben, one of Austria’s most exciting hubs for materials and industrial innovation
