We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with PostgreSQL and cloud database experience to support reliable, secure, and scalable database services.

In this role, you will work across database administration, cloud operations, and reliability engineering to help maintain PostgreSQL services in AWS and Google Cloud environments. You will contribute to automation, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement while working with database, platform, and application teams.

Profil

  • Active experience in recent 2-4 years of administering PostgreSQL databases, cloud database services, or infrastructure platforms in production environments.
  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and database operations.
  • Experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries.
  • Experience with managed database services in AWS and/or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, security, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar, plus basic Linux/Unix administration knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, automation tools, DevOps practices, and CI/CD concepts.
  • Preferred: experience with AWS RDS for PostgreSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, Cloud SQL, AlloyDB, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or cloud migration initiatives.

Aufgaben

  • Administer PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Perform database configuration, patching, upgrades, backups, and recovery activities.
  • Monitor database health, availability, performance, capacity, and resource utilization.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and support incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem management.
  • Support database security, access management, auditing, and compliance-related tasks.
  • Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions for PostgreSQL platforms.
  • Create and maintain scripts, automation, and Infrastructure as Code practices to reduce manual work.
  • Improve monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability across AWS and Google Cloud environments.
