That one has got the freedom to actually create things.Naturally, one has to cope with obstacles in regards to the business environmentwhere one has to be quite persistent to achieve somethingbut one certainly has the opportunity to createand optimise things. That is what I really like about my job!
Welche Einschränkungen bringt Dein Job mit sich?
Working in balancing, one has to respect a lot of time constraintsthere are many deadlines to meet, which one is not able to postpone. We have quarterly reports and annual reportsand various other reporting obligations. We have to honour those.
Worum geht es in Deinem Job?
UNIQA is one of Austria's largest insurance companies.I work on Group Finance, and my responsibility is the balancing of Austrian insurance companiesand organisations, respectively service societies. As group leader of the accounting team, I am responsible for the creation of annual financial statements furthermore, we compile the business reportsfor subsidiaries. Besides, I am strongly involved in additional projects. For example, we transfer our main book to a new systemto SAP /4HANACurrently, another rather lenghty project is the progressive removal of our old insurance policy systems, as there too many of them at the moment, and they will be unified under the new UNIQA Insurance Platform.Currently, we are at the annual closure of our accounts, which means the numbers are almost set. Now, they have to be transferred to our business reportwhere we have to properly present those numbers in an updated written report. When this is successively completed, I need to review the numbers which is one of my responsibilities as well. Subsequently, we are in reconciliation with chartered accountants. At the end of the day one has successfully compiled a written reportthat one is actually able to hold in hands, which, to me, is a lovely feelingthat, even if we are part of the service industry, we produce a tangible product.
