What motivates you at work in EY?
I love being challenged every day. And I love the flexibility that EY offers to be able to also spend time with my family, which makes me very happy.
Do you have any turning point in your career? And how are you getting help?
I think, the biggest turning point in my career was just after I was promoted to manager. I was in Chicago in the US, and I was looking for something new, a new challenge, something to sort of re-energize me. And it was then, when actually the opportunity came up to move to Switzerland. I moved here, site unseen, and I had planned to stay for only three years. I have been here now almost over eight, found a new home in Switzerland and I am very proud to just have been asked to join the partnership last year.
For me, the support is first and foremost coming from my spouse. We are really a team in every sense of the word, he is also a full-time working father, and so we have a really nice balance of helping and supporting each other, both from a career perspective and with our family life. And then, within EY I have so many fantastic mentors, sponsors and colleagues that fully support making life-work integration possible.
How do you recharge? And how are you contributing to a better working world?
I think, for me, my me time has consciously become family time. And I love that, that’s what keeps me energized, spending time with my family helps me take a break from work. I love to be outdoors, we love to ski, to hike and to travel, when we can. That is really what helps me stay energized.
I am trying to lead by example, trying to show others that it is possible to have a positive work-life integration, and I try in all my teams to support also all the individuals doing what outside of work makes them happy. It is your career, so make it work for you! And we, here at EY and leaders in this organization, are here to support just that.

Yamin Gröninger
“Don’t be afraid of making mistakes”, that is one of the advice Yamin Gröninger, Manager Advisory at EY Switzerland, would give her 14-year-old self. What she likes best about her job? “The internationality of the team. We are working together with different offices and we have a lot of possibilities to work abroad.”
Arielle Fakhraee
„Although I’m still rather a junior in the company, I get to work with people on the client side who are quite senior. And they actually look onto my suggestions and value my opinion while working on the project.“ That’s the coolest part of her job, says Arielle Fakhraee. She was always interested in life sciences and now works as a Life Science Consultant at EY as a part of the advisory team. „As a consultant you have to be very open and accept changes because everything depends on the current project you have.“
Anela Weiss
„Das Coolste ist der erfolgreiche Abschluss eines Projektes, das ein Jahr oder länger gedauert hat“, erzählt Anela Weiss, Finance Transformation Lead bei EY. „Bei EY helfen wir Unternehmen dabei, ihre gesetzlichen Vorschriften zu erfüllen und ihre Prozesse zu verbessern. Ich arbeite mit Banken und Versicherungen zusammen und berate sie von der Strategie bis hin zur Einführung neuer Technologien.“
Corina Grünenfelder
„The best part about my job is the diversity in terms of teams and work and work location“ narrates Corina Grünenfelder, Senior Manager EMEIA Financial Services Advisory Risk at EY. „For this job you need at least some sort of quantitative background so studying engineering or computer sciences would also work”
Rico Fehr
“Wenn man bei uns Karriere machen will, dann braucht man einen Uniabschluss und eine weitere Ausbildung bei der Treuhand-Kammer”, nennt Rico Fehr, Partner bei EY Switzerland, die Voraussetzungen für seinen Job. Das einzige, das er an seinem Werdegang ändern würde, wäre der Schritt in die Selbstständigkeit nach dem Studium: “Nach dem Motto: keine Verantwortung, und wenn’s in die Hose geht, kann ich immer noch zurück zur Mami.”
Julie Travadon
„We aim to really help our different clients and on my side I’m working mainly with banks to improve their businesses and processes in a very changing and evolving environment.“ Julie Travadon joined EY in Geneva as an intern in 2012 and over the past five years she grew into the role as Senior Consultant Advisory, Financial Services. She loves the complexity of her work and always tries to work outside of her comfort zone, what enables her to grow. „At the end of a project we’ll be giving our recommendations and ensuring that we reached our objectives.“
Beatrice Molnar
„Wir sind zuständig für die Prüfung von IT-Systemen, wo wir von der Planung über die Durchführung bis hin zur Berichterstattung alles machen.“ Beatrice Molnar arbeitet seit 2014 als Senior Consultant im Bereich IT Risk Assurance, Financial Services bei EY. Gerade in der Zeit der Jahresabschlussprüfungen hat sie viel zu tun. „Nach den Kundenterminen analysiere ich die Unterlagen, die mir der Kunde sendet, und führe bestimmte IT-Tests durch. Dabei versuche ich herauszufinden ob die Kontrolle effektiv läuft oder nicht.“
Monika Löber
„In meinem Job lernt man viel über verschiedenste Unternehmen“, erzählt Monika Löber, diplomierte Wirtschaftsprüferin und Senior Manager bei EY. „Ich bin in der Wirtschaftsprüfung tätig und beschäftige mich vorwiegend mit Versicherungsunternehmen. Wir stellen sicher, dass die Jahresrechnungen, Prozesse und Kontrollen stimmen.“
Darko Miodragovic
“Man kann sehr früh schon sehr viel Verantwortung übernehmen. Man wird in gewisser Weise ins kalte Wasser geworfen”, das gefällt Darko Miodragovic, Assistant Assurance Services Banking bei EY Switzerland, an seinem Job am besten. Was er seinem 14-jährigen Ich raten würde? “Es gibt immer weisere Menschen als sich selbst.”
