Jaroslav Zivny

Cloud Engineer

The coolest thing about my job is that what I work on is used by thousands of people – including me – and I learn a lot about new technologies and how to use them in my job, says Jaroslav Zivny, Cloud Engineer at Erste Bank. I have a Master's Degree in electronics. However, I think that a Master's Degree in Computer Science could be an even better fit for my job. That being said, I believe that if one has a talent for mathematics and logical thinking, a degree would not even be required. To do well in my job, one should be a forward-thinking person with good communication skills!

Data Scientist

Das Coolste an meinem Job ist, dass man sehr oft sehr unklare Fragestellungen bekommt und man sich mit dem Business gemeinsam erst einarbeiten muss, dazu muss man sehr in die Businessthemen eintauchen, damit man es versteht, erzählt Michael Pilarski, Data Scientist bei Erste Bank. „Für Data Scientist gibt es ganz bestimmte Studien, aber auch Webinare, für die, die dieses Studium nicht haben. Manche bringen das Businesswissen mit, manche bringen das Datenwissen mit und manche wirklich die Softwareskills dazu. Ein sehr wichtiger Skill ist die Wissbegierigkeit und das Hinterfragen von bestehenden Grenzen.“

Claus Polanka

Developer

Claus arbeitet als Softwareentwickler bei George. „Ich glaube, dass die Branche “Software Entwicklung“ das beste Beispiel dafür ist, dass man auch ohne einen Universitätsabschluss in die Berufswelt einsteigen kann.“ Claus findet es besonders toll, wenn er etwas programmieren kann, das dann Millionen Menschen verwenden werden und er damit deren Leben vereinfachen kann.

Nenad Milanovic

Security Analyst

"Im Team sind wir dafür zuständig, dass die Daten, die von den Kunden*innen generiert oder von der Bank produziert werden, sicher und vor externen Angriffen geschützt sind." erzählt Nenad Milanovic, Security Analyst im Cyber Defence Center bei s IT Solution. Er hat jeden Tag mit den neuesten Technologien zu tun. "Eine Einschränkung ist, dass ich nicht preisgeben kann, was ich tagtäglich mache. Das hängt damit zusammen, dass ich mit Informationen arbeite, die nicht an die Öffentlichkeit gelangen sollten."
