Drei Ratschläge an Dein 14jähriges Ich!

Life is good, the world is full of amazing people, amazing things and it’s going to be much better than you imagined. I wouldn’t give myself any practical advice like don’t do this do this because I don’t think I would have listened to myself and everything I have done wrong I needed to do wrong so I wouldn’t change anything.

Was steht auf Deiner Visitenkarte?

My name Steli Efti, I am the CEO of Close.IO and I don’t have a business card.

Was ist das coolste an Deinem Job?

The coolest thing about my job is the feedback I get around the world from entrepreneurs and startups that share that they are more successful because of our software or because of something they learnt from our blogs or our content. So knowing that we make a difference in many amazing new companies around the world is definitely the coolest thing about my job.

Welche Einschränkungen bringt Dein Job mit sich?

The hardest thing about my job right now is to keep finding insanely talented people to join us. We are a very small team, we are eight people and we compete with companies that have hundreds and thousands of employees so we are very selective and it’s very hard to find these people. It’s the hardest thing about my job.

Worum geht es in Deinem Job?

My goal is to reach as many sales people as many startups and entrepreneurs around the world and help them sell more effectively with our software. Most of what I do is teaching, so either I teach our customers how to sell better, or I teach our prospects how to do sales so they come and discover our software and I try to teach our employees how to be more successful and more productive than I am. Usually I go to a coffee shop right next to our office and I do some e mails I do some reflecting on what I want to accomplish during the day, and I have my breakfast, then walk over to the office then typically creating some content teaching some things, creating some videos, checking emails, and then checking with different teams in our company and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Wie sieht Dein Werdegang aus?

Am originally from Greece, I grew up in Germany and I dropped out of high school when I was seventeen, eighteen to become an entrepreneur. So I have been an entrepreneur my whole life, am completely unemployable, I have no credentials nobody would ever hire me, and I did small businesses in Europe and eight years ago I moved to Silicon Valley to start my first technology company there which was a gigantic failure and very painful and now am running a business it’s doing really well and am having a lot of fun.

Ginge es auch ohne Deinem Werdegang?

Yes. I think that anyone that is passionate and that is able to inspire others to follow them, and help them to be successful can be a CEO. I think that you need to care, so if you care a lot about the work, if you care about creating value, if you care about your people, life is going to be easier, you are going be more successful. I can’t imagine doing this job, and being really good at it when you don’t care about the quality of what you do or the people that you work with.
