Musiker zu sein ist auf der einen Seite natürlich, für jeden der gerne musiziert und mit seinem Hobby Geld verdienen möchte, der Traumberuf schlechthin. Ganz so einfach wie du es dir im ersten Moment vorstellst, ist es allerdings leider nicht, professioneller Musiker zu werden. Denn dahinter steckt eine lange Ausbildung, ein hohes Maß an Disziplin, viel Übung und ein steiniger Weg, bis du von deiner musikalischen Karriere auch leben kannst! Hast du es erst einmal geschafft, kannst du dich entweder für den Bereich E-Musik (ernste Musik) oder U-Musik (Unterhaltungsmusik) entscheiden. Da der Erfolg und die Aufträge stimmen müssen, um finanziell über die Runden zu kommen, gehen viele Musiker Nebenbeschäftigungen nach, wie beispielsweise Musikunterricht zu geben oder nebenberuflich in einem Musikverlag zu arbeiten. Manche Musiker treten alleine auf, andere haben eine Band, spielen im Ensemble oder sogar im Orchester. Je nachdem für welche Variante du dich entscheidest, differenzieren auch die Anstellungen und das Gehalt.

Marco Sonzini is responsible for capturing the recording, mixing and the choice of equipment in the Speakeasy Studios, a recording studio in Los Angeles. As a teenager he had a band but would have never thought to be working with rockstars one day. "And it's something that growing up I would have never imaginend it would become my job."
